A tornado watch was issued Friday afternoon for the entire Tampa Bay area and most of the state, according to the National Weather Service. The watch, which precedes a warning, last through about 9 p.m.

John McCusker / The Times-Picayune Forecasters expect inclement weather during the day this Christmas Eve. The National Weather Service has extended their tornado watch to include all of southeast Louisiana and southern Mississippi. The watch is in effect until 6 p.m. this evening.
