On January 19, 2010 severe weather conditions produced a strong high precip. supercell on the coast of southern California! Several tornadoes touched down around Huntington Beach, CA and flipped semi trucks, vehicles, and caused damage to businesses and homes. Due to the amount of precipitation I encountered when I finally caught up to the cell, I had no knowledge of what I was chasing…the only information I received was confirmation that the same cell had dropped tornadoes minutes earlier! After reviewing radar images, and news broadcasts from that day, I finally realized what I intercepted was indeed a supercell! (This supercell was in fact confirmed by several certified meteorologists of which include Dallas Raines – ABC 7 news)
