A tornado watch was issued Friday afternoon for the entire Tampa Bay area and most of the state, according to the National Weather Service. The watch, which precedes a warning, last through about 9 p.m.

A tornado warning has been issued for counties in Upstate South Carolina and northeast Georgia until 1 a.m. Monday.Patricia Tanner, a hydrologist for the National Weather Service in Greer, said the tornado watch is in effect for Abbeville, Greenwood and Laurens counties.
