A tornado watch was issued Friday afternoon for the entire Tampa Bay area and most of the state, according to the National Weather Service. The watch, which precedes a warning, last through about 9 p.m.

The National Weather Service says a tornado touched down in Casey County with winds reaching 118 mph, though no serious injuries have been reported. The twister downed power lines and trees and severely damaged at least two mobile homes Friday afternoon in Casey County, southwest of Liberty.
